Title - Housing Support Officer

Contract Length - 6 Months

Rate - Competitve

I’m currently supporting a client with the recruitment of a Housing Support Officer to join a busy supported accommodation service working with young people.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about empowering individuals to build confidence, develop life skills, and move towards greater independence.

Key duties include:

  • Providing practical and emotional support to young people within supported accommodation
  • Building positive relationships and encouraging engagement with education, employment, and personal goals
  • Completing support, risk, and eligibility assessments for new referrals
  • Assisting with move-ins, property readiness, and reducing void turnaround times
  • Carrying out regular property visits and welfare checks
  • Supporting residents to understand and meet occupancy expectations
  • Working alongside external professionals and support services to achieve positive outcomes
  • Maintaining accurate records, support notes, and tenancy-related documentation

Ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience within housing, supported living, youth work, or a similar support setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records
  • Ability to build rapport with vulnerable young people and encourage positive engagement
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a wider team
